IPPF EN and its members were very busy over World Contraception Day! IPPF EN released four videos on contraception based on interviews with young people:
- How many unintended pregnancies are there globally?
- Can you name these contraceptives?
- Can you put a condom on a banana?
- Ryan Heath of Politico Magazine discusses his mum, condoms and sexuality education.
HERA, our Member Association in Macedonia released some GIFs and a video, which can be found on their website or on 'Sexyhood'. RFSU, our Swedish Member Association asked NASA to send a condom to space, and Väestöliitto, our Finnish Member Association launched their annual condom campaign 'Kumita'. This year they emphasised that contraceptives are too expensive in Finland for some young people to buy since in Finland there is no reimbursement under any circumstances. Väestöliitto has been campaigning for over 10 years for people under the age of 25 to get free contraceptives. Recently more and more NGOs and other policymakers have joined the call. Finland’s most influential newspaper published an article based this campaign bulletin discussing the condom campaign and the call for free contraception.
